ABB SPDSO14 | Symphony Plus DSO14 | BAILEY DCS CARD.The ABB SPDSO14 is a Digital Output Slave Module that is part of the Symphony Plus (SP) series from ABB. It is used to provide a path between the controller and I/O modules in a control system. The SPDSO14 module allows the controller to send control functions to the ASI module, which then provides input data back to the controller. The ASI module and the controller’s P2 card edges are connected to the bus.

The SPDSO14 I/O extension bus is a high-speed, synchronous, parallel bus located on the module installation unit backplate. A 12-bit demultiplexer installed in the slot on the MMU backplate connects the controller and the ABB SPDSO14 digital output slave I/O module via the bus. Cable components can extend the bus to eight module installation units. The digital output slave controller and its I/O modules form a subsystem within the Harmony Control Unit (HCU). The I/O extension bus between the control subsystem and the SPDSO14 digital output slave I/O subsystem must be separated. Leaving the demultiplexer slot empty or not using a cable to connect the module installation units will separate them
