Bently Nevada 330180-91-BR Proximitor Sensor
Brand: Bently Nevada
Module: 330180-91-BR
Description: Proximity Sensor
Country: USA
The Bently Proximity Sensor is an eddy-current proximity displacement sensor that provides direct observation of shaft or target displacement measured by various vibrations, displacements, rotational speeds, and time (such as phase). These sensors are available in a wide range of end diameters and thread sizes, ranging from as small as 200 microinches (for REBAM measurements) to as large as 1 inch (typically for differential expansion measurements in large steam turbines), including the 80 meter range suitable for most machine measurements.
The working principle of the Bently Proximity Sensor is that when a coil at the top of the probe is attached with a high frequency current and is close to a conductive surface, eddy currents are generated on the surface of the conductive object due to the magnetic field line of the coil, thereby reducing the inductance of the coil. This change in coil characteristics is converted into a DC voltage signal output. The approach sensor system uses a scale factor to convert the system output into a displacement value.
