Bently’s Proximitor Sensor is a front-facing sensor for measuring vibration and position of fluid film bearing machines, as well as key phase reference and velocity measurement. The sensor system provides an output voltage proportional to the distance between the tip of the probe and the observed conductive surface, allowing both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values to be measured. Each 3300 XL 8 mm sensor system component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm sensor system components. This compatibility includes 3300 5 mm probes for applications where 8 mm probes are too large for available mounting space.
