It is a module of the MMS6000 mechanical monitoring system [1]. The monitor is designed to work with two independent electric velocity sensors, which can be replaced with piezoelectric sensors [1]. The monitor can convert the inputs from the two sensors to two independent outputs that are proportional to the vibration speed or displacement peak value, or to a single output that is proportional to the maximum value of the two input signals

The MMS3120/022-000 is field-configurable via software, which allows for the adjustment of measurement settings and alarms, as well as the configuration of provided outputs [0]. The monitor has a built-in self-checking circuit that monitors the sensors and the transmitter circuit for faults. If a fault is detected, the logic “OK” output will change state, and the current output will change from 4-20mA to 0mA
